I have studied the plethora of posts here about favored DVD authoring programs. DVD workshop was looking very popular until I saw it was the same guy on every tread touting it (90% of te time) <grin>. I see Maestro is very popular and I have it available, BUT....

Before I learn to use something that is obsolete from the get-go, can someone tell me if it's copatible with the HP 200i DVD +R/+RW burner? I don't want to even install it if not.

Or maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, I'm assuming it handles the burinig, maybe I need to use a different product for the actual disc burning? Obviously I'm a newbie, help and pointers appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Scott

Maestro is not a burning program, it's an authoring program.

You will still need dvd burning software to burn the files Maestro authors. Your HP drive should come with burning software.

Amazing that someone would drop several thousand dollars on a piece of software when they are unclear what it does...

DVD Maestro may not support your burner but it will do the authoring for you. You can always use another tool like Nero, DVDdecrypter etc. to burn the VIDEO_TS folder. Maestro will create a .IMG file which DVDdecrypter will burn.

Guides for Maestro can be found here:
