  1. Hello everyone. I have a bunch of edited VHS videos (about 2 1/2 hours each) which I would like to convert to DVD. I'm planning on going through a Sony HiFi VCR, not S-Video) to my Canopus ADVC-100 (Analog to Digital Converter), through my firewire connection, to my computer. The VHS videos are already edited and I'm looking to capture realtime (yes, I know there is alot of debate on this, but I'm looking for a quick way of capturing my video, without having to reencode). I've calculated that I would probably need to go with a bitrate of 3600 to fit the video onto 1 DVD. After searching and reading the forum, I was thinking of going with capturing realtime at 352X480, but I can't seem to find a program that captures realtime to this size. I don't have an ATI card, so I cannot use MMC. Would anyone have any idea of which program captures straight to 352X480 (without having to reencode) and any other suggestions for me? Please let me know. Thanks.

windvdrecorder made by the same company also can do it.

  3. Thanks NYPlayer. I've tried WINDVR and had nothing, but problems with it. Intervideo WINDVDRECORDER only records in 180X120, 360X240, and 720X480. I've tried adding another profile with no luck.

  4. powervcrII will with some tweeks (do a search). It can get you 352x480 real time cap and if memory serves, there is another option to upsample the audio to 48mhz. If not, you can upsample in apps like TMPGENC.

  5. Thanks Macleod. I was doing a search under Powervcr tweak (with an "a"). I'll take your suggestions and tweak my registry.
