  1. I have an Asus TV Tuner card and I'm using VirtualDub 1.5.3. I loaded the latest drivers, WDM 2.0.67, from the Asus web site but I can't set the format in VirtualDub to anything other than NNNx240. I can set it to 320x240 or 720x240 but I can't set it to 720x480 or 640x480. When I try I get the message "Error 418: Unsupported Video Format". I have tried settting VDub to preview mode rather than overlay because I read several posts that say it helps.

In virtualDub under the Video menu, the only device listed on the bottom of the menu is Microsoft WDM. I read a VirtualDub guide that someone posted that indicated that the card needs to be listed otherwise their could be a problem with the drivers. I'm not sure if this is correct because if I select Video/Source the Asus TV880 is listed and I can use the tuner to select channel 3 to get my picture.

I also tried the trial version of AVI_IO and I can set any format I want but I can only capture at 320x240. Everything else fails. The capture ends immediately.

    I'm running XP on a P4 2.53 with 1GB of memory.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You may find that 320 x 240 may be all that you need. I also found that VDub can capture at 480 x 480 which is right down SVCDs alley. Hope this helps.
