  1. I have the pinnacle capture card & use scenalizerlive to capture analoc vhs video. Working great.
I have been successfully able to transfer vhs captured video back to vhs using studio deluxe 8 that came with the capture card.
I ripped a homemade dvd & was able to record a vcd with it, no problem. I want to transfer part of it to vhs.
    That's where I'm having a problem.
Studio deluxe is telling me it wasn't compressed with the studio dv codec, or something like that, & it won't let me do it.
So, how do I get this video onto vhs?
Is there someway to covert it to the proper format?
Or, is there another program out there that will allow me to transfer it to vhs with the capture card I have?

This may sound dumb, but how did you get the capped VHS back to VHS?
My Pinnacle card was TV in, not TV out, so all you should have to do is play the VCD, either in your standalone, or computer DVD player and set your Video Card to Video Out., and feed it to the TV/VCR input, however you have it connected. I don't know why there would be a worry as to what Studio is telling you. Just don't use Studio. Your MPEG played on any device has to be analogue to feed the TV, and the VCR records analogue TV signal, not digital MPEGs, 1, 2, or 4.
I gotta start playing with my own cap card more, MSI TV@vantage, supposed to cap at MPEG4, should be a neat way to condense some already lousy VHS tapes.

I know that Video Studio 6 can save a project to DV, which you can output as DV. But if you have a VCD with the final cut on it, why not just record it to your VCR from your DVD player?
    Hello.

  4. Why can't you just record directly from a DVD player to VHS?
