Staples had Optimum (Khypermedia manufacturer) DVD-R and DVD+R 10 pack spindles:

    $16.94 in store then get $7.00 rebate = $9.94

Offer good week of May 18.

I tried these out on my Sony DRX 500ULX. Both DVD-R and +R worked fine with DVD Shrink files burnt with Nero.

Both formats played on my Sony and Apex DVD players and in my PS2.

I heard these were bad media as well. I typically will pay the extra money for the better quality media, such as Apple or Verbatim.

  5. Khypermedia makes great CD-R media, but I have been reading almost nothing but bad things about their DVD-R media. If you check this forum there are 60+ comments stating how bad they are, but if you are one of the few people who gets them to work, more power to ya!

  6. and this goes to show you why forums are great!

Now I will not purchase them and I didn't even have to do any research.

Burned 3 disks with no problems yet on the Optimum disks....i didnt know they were made by khypermedia. Seems to be a favorite of the office supply stores to put on major sales.

  10. I too, read all the bad reports on K Hypermedia. Have to say, I'm almost through a 25 pack of them (doesn't say Optimum though) from OfficeMax. Burned out to 4.25 gig, no problems so far. Priced at 60 cents per. Using a Toshiba burner.

  11. I too have never had a single problem with the Khypermedia DVD-R media, and I've burnt over 30 discs on my Pioneer A04 drive. No glitches, no hiccups, nothing. All play great!

A nice little bonus is that my drive will burn at 2X using these discs
