  1. I'm trying to make a VCD that plays stills on a DVD player. I'm using VCDEasy 1.1.5. The layout is slightly different from the guide posted here. Instead of (S)VCD, Options, and a check box for PBC (Use Playback Control PBC), it has some options under a heading called "PBC (PlayBack Control): Time to wait after each Sequence/Sebment by default, and Use numeric keys to navigate chapters."

My CD seemed to burn just fine, but when I tried it on my DVD player, I got a nice VCDEasy splash screen with the following message:

    VCD 2.0 player required
Please turn on PBC to show photos

And then it returns to my generic DVD startup screen.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

  2. Sorry to answer my own post, but I finally figured out the PBC thing. It's a setting in my (and probably everyone else's) DVD. It needed to be set to ON, and now the VCD with stills plays great. Thanks to VCDEasy.

BTW, audio CD's and commercial DVD's seem to play fine with PBC=ON, so I'll leave it that way.
