Worst of all they already billed my credit card!!!! I've emailed them and called and no response. Guess I'll have to call my Credit Card company and dispute the charges. This is no way to run a business.
Instead of getting all hot headed, why not do more than just email? Do you have any idea how many emails such a company would get? Try calling them and asking what the problem is.

    here is a good saying.
"You catch more flies with honey than with a fly swat"

No company can help backorders, if what you want is not in stock they will not be able to supply you especially if their magic wand is broken.

Call them and see what the problem is, and ask them to reverse the credit card until goods are in stock. Charging credit cards first is normal practise and I used to do when I was in business otherwise on backorders customers would invariably say "Oh sorry I don't want it now". This forced them to call me then I could cancel my order before it arrived and reverse their payment.

Things look very different when you know both sides and getting cross helps no one.

    cheers

Sorry I sounded cross. I was just wondering if anyone had any problems with this site. It is the first time I had ordered anything from them. I did call them on the phone but they hadn't returned the call. So after I posted the above I left a longer message asking if we needed to credit my card and within 30 minutes I received the email stating my order had shipped. I do understand that they get tons of orders and maybe I was a little impatient. Sorry.

No need to apologise to me. I am just trying to help. Experience has shown me that patience has much greater rewards than losing it does.

For the record I bought from Meritline 3 or 4 times, good prices and no problem.

  6. Isn't it illegal for a company to charge a credit card if they do not have the item avaliable to ship?

I won't speak for the U.S. but not its not in Australia. I would be suprised if such a law did exist. I certainly would not order nor backorder any product I could not get a deposit or payment up front for.

    cheers

Here in USA, WA state, The company can only charge the card when they actually mail the product out. At least legally that is.
