  1. I have a ATI AIW Radeon 7500. While I am capturing with VirtualDub, the sound is great. After checking the captured file, I get a lot of static noise. I updated the last MMC8.1 because I read somewhere that it could the problem. But I still get the same problem.
    Do you have any idea?
    Thanks for your help

Sounds like source audio is too loud. Lower your ATI volume too. Don't have the Windows volume on MAX settings. About half or little over is good.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

  3. I tried but I got the same result. In fact, even worst! The sound from the captured file was low so the static sound was even more audible.
Could it be because my sound card is onboard?

  4. Have you installed the Nimo Codecs Pack? It gave similar static sound in my captures too.

I fixed my sound by reformating my computer and NOT installing the Nimo Codecs.

If you computer + card has captured fine in the past, it's almost certainly some kind of codecs issue (and I suspect it's the Nimo codecs pack). An extreme but effective way to solve it is to reformat and avoid the Nimo pack. You can also first try uninstalling Nimo codecs and reinstalling the latest ones (not from the Nimo pack--download codecs separately from the original sites) but this might not work since some codecs and registries are difficult to uninstall when they become corrupt or conflicted.

  5. The only codecs I installed are: Huffyuv, PICVideo MJPEG/Wavelet (showed by the VirtualDub "Select Video Compression" window).
    Any other ideas?
