  1. When I make a DVD from a video, I notice there is background staticy noise on it and there's not on the vhs video..why is that and how can I fix it?

    A screenshot might be helpful.

    Taking a stab in the dark, I would try a new, heavily shielded cable for the video transfer.
    Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

    Also my initial guess. Shielding of wires, or possibly AVR on the electric.
