  1. Hi folks,

Does anyone know how to import VOB files in Ulead DVD Workshop?; I can with Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2.0 (much cheaper product); it doesn't make any sense; DVD Workshop was supposed to be for "professional" use. Thanks in advance.

    Regards,

    Joe.

The "professional" way would be to use elementary streams, i.e. a video stream and an audio stream. The program will also accept system streams (.mpg).

If you are using DVD content as source, remember to demux the VOB files into the elementary streams you need. The VOBs may contain any number of audio streams and renaming it to .mpg may cause problems in importing the "forced" .mpg into the authoring program. In some cases, the first audio stream will be used and it may not be the one you want.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.

  4. Thanks for your replies. It's just that it is very frustrating to see useful options like: Add Video, Add Slideshow, Import DVD Video in a very low cost package like DVD MovieFactory 2; yet in the much more expensive DVD Workshop, there are no such options. It doesn't make any sense; I wonder what rationale Ulead used not to include such useful functionality.

    Regards,

    (A very disappointed) Joe.
