    Hi all

I have Ulead videostudio 11 plus, and a sony DCR-DVD92E PAL video camera, I've tried to insert video footage (VTS files) into the timeline or library and it doesn't let me, I did find an article saying that the files need to be inserted by going to start>my computer>DVD drive and going into the video TS folder to drag the VTS files to the timeline, this still didn't work.

My next option was to convert the files to another format (I tried MPEG) these were then possible to insert to the timeline, but once I had edited my project and made my new DVD (VTS files) the footage was not as good as the original, and I could make out block on some of the frames,

The imported files (VTS files) were 720 x 576 and the converted files (MPEG) were 720 x 576 as well

Is there a way I can get the files into the timeline or a way a can convert the files with out loosing quality?

I have posted this in both the editing and converting section

    Any Help is welcome!

I changed your subject. Please don't just use Newbie wanting help.

How did you convert to mpg? VOB2MPG or something else?

I used AVS and also tried Magic video converter, would VOB2MPG be better?

Yep, because it wont reconvert the video as avs and magic probably did.

    Thanks Baldrick

I found a link on this site, installed VOB2MPGv2.5 imported files etc and the MPEG files are of much better quality.

The only thing is once I've inserted them into Ulead videostudio and play the project, it jumps frames by upto 10 frames????

The link from which I got the VOB2MPGv2.5 said about downloading .net framework 2.

When I looked into this it didn’t say it was supported by Vista, should I download this anyway?
