Luv to hear any success storys on putting movie on one VCD

My first attempt of putting a movie on one VCD was a hugh success but I cant repeat my first time luck. I followed the VCDhelp guide step by step. I have burnt onto several different media from top of the line to cheaper disc that I know play on my standalone. But every attempt I get a jittery VCD when played on my standalone but plays fine on my computer.

I would appreciate any success stories - as detailed as possible. I might be able to find some answers to fixing my problems.

I am stumped why my first attemp was a success but no others??

Use Eazy Vcd from the tools menu, if you want a simple copy with nothing special then that is the tool for you.

I have sucessfully put dvd movies on one vcd- as long as the moviw was less than 80 minutes (on a 700mb disc) using eazyvcd- it is a great program and gives good results.

Yes, there's one prerequisite: The movie may not be more than 80 mins.
That done with, I rip the DVD to HD (SmartRipper, DVDDecrypter...), noting frame rate.
Then, run DVD2AVI on the ripped VOB's, decoding the audio track I want to 44.1 kHz WAV. Save Project (mymovie.d2v)
Listen to the WAV to make sure it's the right track I've ripped.
Use, with respect to frame rate, the correct VCD template in TMPGEnc, and use the d2v as video source, the wav as audio source, hit Start and go about my business for a coupla hours.
Try the finished mpg in some mpg-player just to see if it went as smooth at it use to, at both beginning and end.
Fire up VCDEasy, add the mpg, pop a fresh CD-R in my burner and hit Burn.

Works without problem almost 100%

you can fit any length movie on one vcd if you use tmpgenc. use the project wizard
just use the regular ntsc vcd template then go to expert settings ( on page 4 of the wizard named bitrate settings) and choose media type vcd/svcd 700 mgb 80 min then on the same page choose autoset and it will encode the movie of any length to fit on one cdr. If you want even better qualtiy change the sound to 128 kbs instead of 224

i live my life making xvcds, they come out great if you use interlace, bottom field first, 4:3 display, whilst leaving everything else alone...i just encode man, on an 80 minute cd, i find movies that are an hour and a half tops can fit best, on a 90 min cd, a 2 hour movie can fit best, for those other longer movies, plz people, just put thopse on dvd, this is only for people who want to watch the entire movie without getting up..mind you it all depends on your software and hardware, as well as dvd player, i own an apex 1200 ad, that shit is da bomb, anything can play on it......i own an hp comp, with a sony dru 500 drive and a hp cd-rw drive, and belive me, my hard drive is thankfull to me for it....holla back for more advice

thank you all. Your advise has helped. I now know I am doing it correctly using TMPGEnc & VCDEasy for adding chapters. I think my problem is my bitrate I have been using 1150 when my problem happens When I lower it to 900 it works fine the picture is not as bright but I guess I can live with that. Unless anyone has any suggestions on getting a sharper picture, sound also a little dull.
