I really really need help from somebody because I have been trying for the last couple of hours to figure out what the problem is with my codecs, or whatever is wrong with this...

I have a program called "Freez screen video capture" program, which enables me to capture the screen, a movie or whatever. I have a dvd in the computer, when I play it with windows media player, vlc media player, or anything, and record it, when I play back the newly created .avi file, it doesnt show the movie at all - or sound!
I have no idea why it does it.

I have a program that checks the .avi file 2 see what codec is needed. It keeps saying i need a CRAM (windows media 1) codec, and i actually got lucky and found one, downloaded it, but it still wont show up! I have Divx and everything, but no matter what, the stupid movie recording wont show!!

Am I doing something completely wrong or am I crazy? This is so frustrating because everything I try to do, it wont record the movie at all!!!!

    Please help me!

    Welcome dziendobry

People are going to ask why ???

Its a dvd in pc = rip to hd with dvdfab decrypter ... the free version is tucked away on site .

Dvd to avi ... plenty of programs cover this , but try dvdx ... simple , and gives instant preview when tweaking display changes .

As for capturing screen activity , try camstudio , and grab its codec .

thanks a lot for the reply.

So I guess you can't 'capture' a dvd playing in a media player then?

    Well that sucks...
