  1. I've only tried to encode a half dozen or so films with TMPGenc and every one has audio sync problems. I've extracted the audio using virtualdub as recommended on this site and followed the conversion instructions in the how to section - splitting files into two etc. All these films have played OK on the pc but as soon as I've encoded them with TMPGenc and tried them on the pc they've gone out of sync. Some are OK at the start but get out of sync as the movie progresses. Others are out of sync from the start. The only successful VCD's I've made have been those where the movie was less than 80 mins and I've let Nero do the encoding. I read elsewhere that instead of extracting the audio with VirtualDub, I could try AVISynth to frameserve the whole thing including audio.

Has anyone got a newbie guide for avi/divx conversion to vcd/svcd using AVISynth and TMPGenc?

  2. As they play fine on your comp it could be to do with your media or the speed at which you are burning try mixing it up a bit and see if you get any better results.

  3. Sorry if I didn't make it clear - the films play OK on the pc as avi's/divx but after extracting the audio with virtualdub and encoding with TMPGEnc they are out of sync as MPEG's when played on the pc - even before burning.
