ok heres my problem
I have about 100 tv shows recorded on my computer using EYETV
i have been converting each move from Mpeg1 to DV to FCE back to Mpeg1 (this lets me edit out the comercials with Final cut express) btw if anyone knows an quicker way feel free to speak upanyway i ot ready to start burning some of these to DVD and couldnt do it then i rem that DVD is Mpeg2 (or so i think) so now i need to know how to convert them to mpeg2 so i can burn them on a DVD this is the first time i have done anything like this with my mac. which brings me to my OS i am using 0S-X 10.1.5 i have a g4 with 1.5 gigs ram and dual 1 gig processors i have lots of software already but if i need more i will be happy to get it

hmmm... if you have Mac OS X 10.2 or later, you can use EYE TV ver. 1.2 and it can let you cut out the commercials.

Are you gonna burn DVDs from movies which captured by EYE TV?? I think, movie quality captured by EYE TV is basically VCD quality. So, it's better burn them as VCDs. Even if you are capturing in High Quality mode, the resolution is just 352x240. So, it's not gonna be as sharp as you want.
But if you still want to convert those mpeg1 files to mpeg2, then try ffmpegX. (also elgato homepage has how to do that)
