SVCD Menu with Nero

I have the latest version of Nero and have used the guide on this site to help with the building of a basic menu. The question I have is after building this menu and burning to CDR is there any way to have this menu autostart in Windows like my DVD's do? Or is this menu only playable in standalone DVD players? I am still new to all of this and may have overlooked somthing simple. Any help would be great.

unfortunately, svcds are nowhere near as cool as dvds go. the only software player that can play svcds properly as svcds is windvd. the menu will only work in windvd and in your standalone dvd player. if you're really hard-pressed on getting it to auto-play on your comp, there is some hacking you can do (where you add an autorun.ini file and make it open in wmp) but this will only display the menu, not let you use it (like with numbers and choosing and all that jazz)

And most computers don't have the mpeg2 SVCD decoders so windows media player isn't a universal SVCD play option. I make all my regular VCDs to include an autorun.ini file in the root directory plus a ASX file to sequentially play the mpeg1's but no menu selection in ASX :^(

I am using WinDVD. So how do I get the menu to work? The only way I have found to run the MPEG is to search the drive and load the file manually. This works but there is no menu. Just the video clip. Thanks for the info.

I found somewhere on another forum a method on how to play by menu selection.
It is not what I like since it is not consistent with the rest of "menu/button/mouse"-operation and therefore not intuitive.

It simply consists of entering the number you see in the menu and pressing the enter key. (see also the keyboard section in the Help file).
