  1. Hi i seem to get this error when i try to encode an avi to svcd:
    (THE ERROR OCCURRED WHEN ACM WAS INITIALIZED). I used AVIcodec to get info on the file so here it is : (XVID Mpeg4 AC3 DVM, File : 699 Mb (699 Mb), duration 0:58:52, type AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality 86 %.
    Video : 511 Mb, 1214 Kbps, 23.976 fps, res. 640*352 (16:9), XVID = XVID Mpeg-4, Supported.
    Audio : 188 Mb, 448 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 5 chan., 0x2000 = AC3 DVM, Unsupported).

  2. your video file may be corrupted. try looking for programs that might fix your problems in the TOOLS section of this wonderful site.

  3. The last line concerning your audio states the problem. It is an AC3 audio file which is unsupported in TMPG. There are a couple of guides on this site on how to deal with AC3 files with TMPG. You basically have to strip the audio file and convert it to a wav file so TMPG will recognize it.
