  1. I am wondering if it is possible to extract a 5.1 channel .wav file from a .vob file. Also, would the 5.1 be Dolby Digital or MPEG2 5.1? When I extract the 5.1 from the .vob and combine it with the .d2v file in TMPGenc would the SVCD work in a standart TV DVD player and would I be able to get the 5.1 sound through my reciever? What program do I use to do this?

    Thanks in advance

Please forgive him though! the question was not answered in the previous post, so he wanted to reformulate the question... so he might get an answer. Probably he did not have the time to search the forums either

  4. take a look here:

NOTE: SVCD does NOT support Ac3 audio, you have to use multichannel mpeg-audio as described in that guide. Very few DVD players or Surround sound decoders support mpeg 5.1 sound.

You could try making an XSVCD with Ac3 sound, a FEW DVD players will handle this ok but your chances of success are slim.
