  1. I've noticed that when playing a DivX encoded with the free version of 5.03 in Media Player 9 a "DivX" logo fades in and out at the beginning of the file. This doesn't happen when playing the file with the DivX Player but what's getting me is when the file's played with Media Player the logo appears UNDERNEATH my own logo that I used VirtualDubMod to put in.

Is this hard coded into the DivX file, because I can't see how the codeec/decodec would know how to display something under a part of the video. Does this only effect files encoded with the free version?

    I'm bemused.

  2. The only thing I am sure of is that this probably would not have happened if you had had a XviD file. XviD is free... and DivX is not. And probably DivX wants to punish you for not buying DivX!!!!

    just my 77 cents!

  3. I've found a few binary distro sites for xvid, but I'm not sure which one to use.

Do you know which one has the latest STABLE release?

to turn off the logo,go to the divx folder and open config.exe
in the quality setting tab check disable logo
