  1. PLEASE >>>>>>

Yes I am new to this, but please read on, I have done my research and tried a host of solutions. I just want to record TV Movies and make DVDs (at least for now).

Problem: Recorded DVDs have "jerky" video. On any action scenes, captured from TV RCA inputs. Video plays fine on preview, but after recorded to DVD, video jerks in action scenes when the camera moves. If the camera is still - the video is fine. Note: Not Camcorder in, regular recording off of TV. Also note: VCDs look fine. Jerky playback on both PC DVD player and Entertainment Center DVD player.

Setup: ATI All in Wonder 64 (for capture), Pentium 2.5G, 256 MRAM, 60G Ultra DMA Hard disk (7200 RPM), Pioneer DVR-105. Software: Ulead Video Studio 6.0. Tried demo of Ulead 7.0, but get error messages when I try to record.

Tried: Latest ASPI driver update, 1.3 DVD flash, ATI updates, Ulead updates (three patches). Variable bit rate (to 6000) and constant bit rates (4,000, 6,000 and even 8,000). Both 1X -R generic and the RW (1X I guess) that came with the DVD player. Disconnected USB devices. Closed most programs in tray.

    Video: 24 Bits, 720v480, 29.970 F/s

Find a motion scene in the original capture that you know causes a problem, then change the field order when converting to MPEG. I think with analogue capture it should be upper field first. Do small sampled until happy.

  4. Media? O.k. I'll give it a try. Too bad I just bought 50 DVDs.

"change the field order when converting to MPEG".

Sorry .. what exactly does that mean in Ulead VideoStudio 6.0?

    Thanks .. Dave
