    Dear All,
I have a problem with TPMGEnc in that it now tells me that the MPEG-2 encoding is only available for a 30 day evaluation period and since that period now has passed I need to purchase TPMGEnc Plus for USD 48. Is there no way to encode to MPEG-2 without buying this upgrade? Or is there another program, freeware, that does the job as well as TPMGEnc? Best regards and thanks in advance. Lars

Hmm. Can't say I understand your point of view here. You download a trial-version of a commercial software, with a limited trial period of 30 days MPEG-2 encoding, a fact that is clearly stated on the page where the download resides.

I'd say there is no legal way to encode MPEG-2 with TMPG without paying for the software. There are free MPEG-2 encoders available (such as ReMPEG2) but they come no where near TMPG in terms of quality. Consider buying TMPG a very cost effective way to MPEG-2 Encoding, since it's only competitor in terms of quality, CCE, costs some $2000. Then $48 is nothing but pocket-money. Also consider the CCE Basic currently announced by CinemaCraft. More info at www.cinemacraft.com
