avi encoded with tmpgenc not as clear on computer ?

i have an avi file and i encoded with tmpgenc the video only i used
all settings for ntsc dvd and once i author it with maestro and burn it
if i play the vob files with my power dvd the image is not as sharp as
with the original avi file is this normal ?

Actually i am not looking at it full screen ! will it look bad on my dvd as well ?

This is not necessarily true. My computer screen is running 1600x1200 pixels, whereas my TV is only about 400x300 maybe. That's a big difference when it comes to noticing details in an encoded file. For normal, non-HDTV it will almost always look better on the TV than on the computer screen.

mauricei, the encoded mpeg file will never look quite as good as the original AVI.

Can you guys help on this one

The same file as 5ch. audio i encoded with dvd2avi and when i import
assets with Maestro it tells me (wave_pcm files only). I tried renaming
my file to .ac3 like some guides say but it just wont take the file
any idea ?

That makes sense, i never thought about it that way. I always assumed that it would look worse on tv just because its bigger. Thanks for the correction.
