    Hi,

I successfully encoded my .avi to DVD using ffmpegx. I got a folder containing video_ts and audio_ts folders. The problem comes when I try to burn these folders to a DVD. I tried burning them using TOAST 8 in the DATA - DVD UDF mode, but it wouldn't play on my DVD player. Then I followed the instructions on the ffmpegx web site and created an image using ffmpegx tools and burned it using Disk Utilities on my Mac but it also wouldn't play on my DVD. Then I tried burning the Video_TS and Audio_TS folders in TOAST 8 in Video mode but the same happened again.
    What am I doing wrong?
It is like if it was missing something, maybe a chapter 0 or menu?

    help!

There are many things that can go wrong. The most common one is simply a bad burn, caused by marginal media or a worn-out burner. If you're not using Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden media, the probability of a media-related problem goes up considerably.

In some cases, burning at lower speeds helps marginal media do better. If you have 16x media, for example, try burning at 12x or 8x.

Also, not all players will accept all media. For example, some DVD players will work best with +R, while others might favor -R. Most modern ones will play anything, but only if the media quality is acceptable.

Toast should have burned those folders just fine, as long as you properly selected DVD output.

I also recommend testing with Apple's DVD player software; it is very fussy, so if it can play the VIDEO_TS correctly, then the burned result should also be playable in pretty much anything.
