Are there trials available anywhere for this software. Maybe even older versions? I did not see any on their website. Sounds like a promising program but not sure if I want to shell out 79.95 for a product I may be disappointed in. It got a good review, but based on these posts below it sounds like a scary purchase.

sonicmydvd came with my dvd burner. i had shitty luck with it. i think i made 3 dvd's. and all 3 became nothing more than expensive firsbees. id add a divx file, and it would check it and blah blah blah, but then after it burned. it only burned 10 seconds of it. so i tried another divx movie. same thing, this time it was like 13 seconds. then i tried a compliation of music videos. wouldnt even work on my dvd player. i used neodvd standard and all the discs i made worked fine. the bad thing about that program is that if you have multiple files, itll take you back to the menu after each file is completed, instead of doing a continuous play. ive also heard of many other people having problems with sonic my dvd. my suggestion is not to buy it. try the ulead software or pinnacle. good luck

I've had good luck with MyDVD,I like it much better then Ulead MF or PictureShow.Only drawback is MyDVD converts DVD audio to LPCM.
P.S.maybe if some people would convert DIVX file first to MPEG MyDVD
won't complain and there is an option to "Play All" so it won't go back to menu.If all fails READ the instructions. -
i didnt say sonic mydvd wont play continuously. i said neodvd wont do that. plus i did convert 1 of the 2 movies i tried over to mpeg2 format. still didnt work. but like i said. i dont care about that program anymore. i dont bother converting divx files over. i just make "backups" now with dvdxcopy. been working great. anyways, i guess all i can really say is Trial And Error. use kazaa and get the program, if it works and you like it then buy it, if it doesnt work, then you know not to waste money.

Got v4.0 with my DRU500 burner. Basically the software worked for me (ie: actually created DVD that were usable) but its feature are SOOOO limited ... Honestly if I'd paid $19.99 for it I'd be mad as hell ...
Here's what I dislike:
* forces you to use (uncompressed) PCM audio instead of Mpeg (will rencode for you) which means you store much less video on the disc
* Does NOT allow you to create chapters (for existing mpeg files (only files it captures))
* Very limited control over layout/presentation
* Very limited (that I recall) control over encoding params (resolution/bitrate/etc)
* Could not get menu audio to work (could be me!!!!)
* Can not use different layout for submenus
* etc...
Try Ulead Movie Factory II, for the price IT IS A FANTASTIC package
... except for an itermittent bug (2 out of 30 DVD) where audio is out of synch

Yeah I agree, the product works well, however it's HUGE negative is it uncompresses all your audio to PCM, thus using half of the disc for audio....
