    what is the easyest way to convert dvd to divx ?

    If you go to doom9.net, you can find detailed guides on how to do this. Basically, you rip the dvd, then create a project file with dvd2avi, then load that project file into gordianknot, then fix up your settings (according to doom9 guide) then encode.
