  1. Major,

Tried converting an avi and adding subtiles, but it didn't seem to work. No "burned in" subs were seen in the resulting mpeg. I followed the instructions as you wrote them in the release "changelog". The only think I can think of is that I had installed all of the subtitle packages instead of just the "Subtitles iso-8859-1.pkg" by error. Not sure if there is a conflict going on and I couldn't figure out how to uninstall them to check if this theory was correct.

  2. Are you using "mplayer decode" option? If problems persist, email me with details.

    Yes

Me too, I can't incrust subtitles (.sub, .srt....) into my divx. With mencoder, it works but I can't directly encode in mpg1video. I must encode in mjpeg in order to encode in ffmpgX.

So, I followed the instructions in the ffmpegX's "changelog", but nothing.

    My presets in ffmpegX:

avi (divx) to VCD via mpg1 mpeg2enc
    load subtitle (with mplayer decode)
    Subtitles package instaled.

    I don't understand ????

  4. OK, the reason is you're using MPEG-1. For now subtitles are only supported with MPEG-2, so make a CVD (with "mplayer decode" activated) instead of a VCD.

    OK, thanks.

I'll try to create CVD. But with my iMac 400 DV, Mpeg2 encoding takes a very long time.
