Hello there. Im quite a newbie so maybe this will be quick, but I am having a really hard, stressful time here...

I've downloaded FFmpegX (as well as the mpeg2enc, mencoder, and mplayer components) today Nov 6, 2008.
I have a .avi file and want to include .srt subtitles, and that is fine, Im not having problems here.

BUT the problem is when I go to the Filters tab, and look for my .srt file, I CANNOT change the subtitles position, it is disabled and it only indicates "Pos 80" and I can't seem to be able to modify it. (I can change the font size, the text encoding, and it seems the subtitles font too... these are not disabled, only the Pos number, you know, it is in light gray)

Can anyone please help me? yeah i accepts insults too, as long as an answer is provided lol.

When you convert using the ffmpeg engine, there is no control over the subtitle position. Hence the field is disabled.
When you convert using the mencoder engine, the subtitle position can be set. But due to a bug in 'recent' mencoder builds, the position (and font size) change is not respected. The older mencoder (from 2005-01-23 I think) did that better. (There are some past topics about this bug on the forum.)
If you want to burn the subtitle onto the video, you'll have to use a mencoder preset, because it is an mplayer (= the decoder for mencoder) feature, not an ffmpeg feature.
