  1. Yes, my Philips DVD950 has become unable to play cd-rw.
    I've tried to clean the lens with both the CD and DVD player lens cleaners but it didn't resolve.
    I think it can't be related to the last firmware upgrade since I did it a couple of months ago and everything seemed work fine so far.
    I'm afraid that the problem could be the lens itself.

    Can you help me somehow or, at least, give me an advice?

  2. Did you try using a brand new CD-RW? They don't last that long when used frequently. Personally, I would only use it for tests.
    Don't knock on deaths door, ring the doorbell and run, death hates that!

  3. Matter of fact, I didn't use any brand new cd-rw but they were used only 3-4 times, I don't think they can get so bad so quickly.
    More, me too I use them for tests only, but now I can't test anything anymore!
