    I have a Terapin VCD recorder and it works quite well. I also have a DVD recorder, Panasonic E-30 and very happy with it.

    With the price of DVD-R below a buck, the DVD-R recorder is easy and cost effective.

    The DVD recorders are MPEG-II

  6. I have the Terapin too. It does very good for dvd -> vcd. Quality is pretty good even on my 42" hdtv. IF I could somehow get the Terapin to record at 1750K instead of 1150K the quality would be awesome.
