cant load file on tmpg enc.

Hi.
I just downloaded 2 movies, AVI format and wish to convert them to mpeg, using tmpg enc.
The thing is when I try to open the input file, it say's "cannot open, or unsupported"
How do I resolve this problem>?

PS if u know of any better software which can deal with mpeg1 video and audio converting please let me know, as this is doing my noodle in

Can you play the avi files on your PC. Most likely you dont have the correct codecs. I think TMPGenc needs the codecs to be present as well.

The tools link on this forum can direct you to codecs.

I fixed the opening file and converting prob now, u need to use TMPGenc v12a
