  1. Hello.

I can't get nero to burn my vcds successfully. I've got the newest nero version, and I got a cyberhome 500, as many of you suggested, in the mail today, but my vcds I made will not play. I've also had trounle burning audio CDs with nero. It goes through the whole process, but then the cd won't play either on the computer or in a standalone player. I've got a slow burner, so it makes this whole process even worse. I'm using eazyvcd to rip the dvd, and then burning it in VCD format, WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!?!?! PLEASE HELP!

    Thanks!!!!!!

Don't use the newest version of Nero as it contains many bugs. Use an older version of Nero (5.5.5.1 and higher). You could also use VCDEasy to burn your VCD's.

You can get VCDEasy from http://www.vcdeasy.org. An excellent program!!

What DVD player do you have? Some DVD players will not play VCD's, others will play them but won't read CD-R. You can check to see if your DVD player is listed in the DVD Players list to the left side of every page on this website.

Also some DVD players that have trouble reading CD-R will read CD-RW. The specs for lasers used to read CD-RW is closer to that used to read DVDs than the specs for lasers used to read CD-R. So you might want to try burning a CD-RW and see if your DVD player will play that.

Other folks might also be able to help - there are lots of variables. Keep hanging out here and searching the forums - I'm sure you'll find your answer somewhere or someone (maybe even me) can help you.

  8. how do you free it for vcds? It says in the manual it plays vcds out of the box. I also tried to update the firmware and I can't get my iso file to burn right, or at least the player won't read it. It always says 'bad disc'

    All suggestions appreciated!

  9. This probably won't help, but worth a shot. When you start a new VCD with Nero, you could try unchecking the "Use CD-I Application" box *shrugs* Also have you tried different brands of CD-Rs? Sometimes people report that only CD-RWs work.
