  1. I was trying to use one of the templates from www.kvcd.net Which i was gonna use for TMPGEnc.
Everything look like it was going good. I burned it on Nero and then played it on my VCD player.
But i had a problem where it made the audio and video of it moved way too damn fast. Whats the did i do wrong???

When you burn after you have encoded with one of Kwag's (he runs KVCD.net) templates, depending upon wether it is a XVCD or XSVCD template you have to turn off VCD or SVCD compliance. Did you do that? If not I suggest you turn off compliance and try again, before trying any other fix. Also, is your DVD player compatable with XVCD's (most of his templates are for XVCDs)?

Did you make sure you encoded the audio at 44.1Khz and not at 48Khz ?
I've seen that problem many times, so you might want to check that.

    Trunks4191:

To turn off VCD compliance, in Nero, click the icon to burn to CD, a set of tabbed pages pops up that is titled "Write CD". Click on the Video CD tabbed page and uncheck Create Standard Compliant CD.

Uh... what is it about them that means you have to turn off compliance? My own custom CDs work fine with it turned on, so long as I mux the file as MPEG-1 VideoCD (non-standard)...

  8. the kvcd templates are not compliant to VCD standards, that is why u need to untick the Create Standard Compliance CD box in the new compilation window. what makes them non-compliant is the fact that they allow more film time on a cd, like the new low-bitrate template allows you to fit upto 180 mins onto one 80 min cd.

also not all dvd players play the KVCD templates, which could be why you are having problems playing the movie on your dvd player

  9. Just a side note on the KVCD LBR. You don't need to burn as non-compliant VCD. VCDEasy (and I think Nero too) will read an mpeg created with KVCD LBR as compliant 8). It will read it and pass all compliancy tests, just like if it was a standard VCD mgeg-1 file.
For all other resolutions, you must disable compliancy checks.
