We have lots of old Video 8 tapes that we plan to digitize to DV tape. The plan was to do a video-out from the old Sony Video8 to our Sony TRV25.
It looks like the years have not been good to the Video 8 camcorder. It goes on, but is giving us error messages that the documentation doesn't cover. So, it's possible it's DOA. Does anyone know if Video8 players are still around?
We don't want to make a huge investment in hardware to get these tapes copied.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, and Merry Christmas!

We had a similiar problem... Checked around for video 8 players, very hard to find. Bought a cheap used video8 camera from a pawn shop, they offered a 30 day return policy,,,, worked GREAT.... This time of year pawn shops offer some great deals.... Good luck
