  1. Is there any suggestions what FFDShow version i should use? I have been using rev. 610 (20061201) for a while now, but i have sometimes problems with video (xvid/divx) playback.

Often playback (atleast once) goes either like fast forward for a couple of seconds or then picture freezes (jumpy playback) for a short time, while sound continues normally.

Though i'm not sure if it's a FFDShow issue. I'm thinking to install ffdshow-20051129, because it's said to be a good version. Is that so? Or should i just install latest beta?

Any other ideas what can cause those video playback issues?

    Hi,
I've had good luck with the latest clsid "stable' builds. A 1.6ghz Duron processor is probably borderline for decoding, especially if you are using any post-production filters. Even realtime volume-normalizing which is enabled by default could rob you of enough resources to playback video.

  3. Hi GMaq.

I don't use any post-processing, volume-normalizing or resizing. With xvid/divx videos my player CPU usage moves between around 15-25%.

Could you give a link to those clsid "stable" builds?

Follow the automatic links applied to the word ' ffdshow ' in these posts, and click on the 'Download' link. That'll take you to the Sourceforge page where the builds are located.

Get the newest clsid icl10 SSE. See if it drops your CPU usage a little. I think your processor has SSE instuction set.
Combine ffdshow with MPC if your not already.
