  1. Camera: Sony DCV-TRC 110E
Capturing over firewire cards or on board (notebook)firewire, Software MovieMaker1, MovieMaker2, Pinacle.
I tried it on three different computers (WindowsXP, Windows2000, CPU Speed from 400MHz to 1GHz) and got every time the same result:

When I play my captured video on the computer every thing looks fine except the very top lines (maybe 2 percent) of the video screen are flickering during the playback (not during capturing) from left to right with a frequency of about a second.

what are possible reasons. I thougt digital video will be downloaded binary and not converted anyway?

    thanks for assistance.

    regards
    Peter

  2. Assuming it's an analog camcorder, it's called video head switching. Each video head records and plays back one field, so two heads are needed to make one frame. When the video is not time base corrected, there are timing errors between the two heads, which looks like horizontal tearing or wobbeling during the first few lines after the head switch. There is nothing you can do to fix this other than getting a TBC, even then, it might not correct the problem fully if the timing is far off.

Since all TV sets are over-scanned, it will normally not show on a TV set.
