If your actually trying to burn the DVD with SpruceUp, then you would need to install ASPI drivers. It's not necessary though. Just select TILE on your Export Screen, and give it a working directly. It will create a VIDEO_TS, and AUDIO_TS folder, which can be dragged into whatever burning software you prefer to use.

For your situation, I think Bugsters solution is the best, since you only need this short term.

  2. OK...I don't know if it was in this forum, but I posted about this problem a few days ago. Then I downloaded a program that Sonic (DVDIt Makers) said to download if it is giving me that error.

    It's called FORCE ASPI. (http://aspi.radified.com/)

I ran that program a few days ago, and it got rid of the error. Then, I go to use it last night and it's back. I try that program again...still no luck. So I call Sony, and they told me that having DVDIt and MyDVD on the same machine would screw it up. So I uninstalled MyDVD...and then she got all pissy with me. Then she told me to restart my computer...and while it was restarting, she hung up on me...what good customer service. It was 8:00 closing time, so she screwed me out of calling back. Somehow restarting it and reinstalling MyDVD it seemed to work...for now.

  3. OK...I got all of the menus and chapters cut in SpruceUp, and when I go to burn, I get this error:

The remaining disc write operations will be aborted.

I looked in the help file and this is what it said about that error:

Appears once you have chosen to cancel a write operation.

    Please Help!!!!!

    Thanks

I wouldn't use the Burner option in SpruceUp. Select TILE SET for your output. This will create the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders, which you can then drop into whatever burning program you normally use, like Nero for instance.

  5. OK...I did that and burned it to a DVD-R using Nero 5.5.17.

When I watch it, there are some problems with it:

    1. Titles that were OK when watching it in Adobe Premiere and Spruce are cut off when I watch it on my stand alone.

    2. Disc freezes during a couple of parts when watching on stand alone.

    3. Audio not synchronized at some points.

    4. Audio mix I did at the end between 2 mp3 files screwed up. The first one ends and the second one that is supposed to come in doesn't come in.

What step would I need to fix this? I hope this doesn't mean creating the titles all over again, and rendering to AVI and then converting to MPEG and then recutting chapters to...

    Thanks

#1 There is a 'grid' button on the menu setup screen. It has two boxes, one inside of the other with a mouse over description of "show/hide safe zones. Make sure that all of your thumbnails are inside of the inner box.

#2 This can be either bad media, or a bad/corrupt encode. Spruce is fairly picky about the streams it imports. Not sure where to point you here. Your DVD player could also be having problems with the media you burned.

#3 This shouldn't be happening at this point. When you preivewed your work (you did preview it using the "Simulate" screen didn't you?), was the audio in sync on your PC?

#4 MP3 for audio on a Video DVD is not a standard format, although some players may play them. Your taking your chances using MP3. You should use MP2, AC3, or PCM audio

You shouldn't need to redo all of this. Just load the project that you saved back into Spruce.

  7. Hey thanks for the quick response!

    I need to clarify though....

    1. It's not the thumbnails that aren't showing up...In my project I have JPEG stills of CD covers and text showing what song, what artist, and what album it is off of. When I made the stills, I made it in 720x480 resolution and it worked. In Premiere it fit and didn't get cut off...and when I simulated it in Spruce it wasn't cut off. But when I watched it on my stand-alone it was cut off.

    2. The media is Maxell.

    3. Yes...the audio was in sync on the computer when "Simulating"

    4. I imported MP3 into Adobe when creating it...I assume since it went through TMPEGEnc it was converted to another format?

    5. I also forgot to mention in my other post about the audio...it seems to be in Mono...because some parts of the song aren't coming out!

    Thanks

I'm not suprised that the edge of your stills are getting chopped. Try shrinking them, and add a black border around them, so your image is still 720x480, but the actual image area is smaller.

I'm not sure why your audio would go out of sync at this point. I don't see how the burning process could affect audio sync issues, although bad media could if the stream being decoded was fudged by the player I supposed.

If you encoded your audio in TMPGenc to get a MPEG end product, then yes, your audio would have been converted to MP2.
