I have burned a DVD+R (using a SONY DRU-500A) as a data disk with Easy CD Creator. However when I try to read the disk in another computer with a DVD-ROM drive it fails. The dvd-rom drive seems to click a few times.
Any clues???

It may be that the DVD-ROM drive you tried it in cannot read DVD+R's. DVD-ROM drives suffer from the same compatability issues that stand alone DVD players have, when it comes to reading burned DVD's.
