Hi, when ever I use vcdimager to process mpeg2 files I get the following error:
mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'next_I_offset ': [00:00.1e]
mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'previous_I_offset': [00:00.1e]
mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'forward_I_offset ': [00:06.3b]
mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'next_I_offset ': [00:00.2e]
mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'previous_I_offset': [00:00.2e]
mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'next_I_offset ': [00:00.2f]
mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'previous_I_offset': [00:00.2f]
What is this? and how can I prevent the error? The mpegs are encoded with tmpegenc and when burned with nero always produce compliant svcd's so this error is very puzzling.
I check the update scan offsets box in tscv but the resulting disks do not work in my dvd player or on my pc.
The prog I use with vcdimager (0.7.10pre4) is tcsv (latest version) but it doesn't matter which gui interface I use, the results are the same.
Any help appretiated.

Try to demux your video in tmpgenc and then use bbmpeg to mux together, this will add the scan offsets and then you shouldn't get that error. I have used this method and the error is gone.

Thanks for the info, I'll try it.

Have you tried to play your SVCD in your stand alone player with the one that's been updated Scan Offsets??????
I've got this error as well but if your add Scan offsets line in your "XML" Chapter would work after all.
I don't like the idea of demux/remux very much, becuase I've got a side effect with my player all the time.

I initially would take the tmpgenc file, dumux it then remux in bbmpeg. sometimes this would generate broken header packs that would cause vcdimager to choke. i then compared a bin made with a bbmpeg file, one made with a tmpgenc file (not demuxed/remuxed) and then another made with a tmpenc file and i used "update scan offsets" in VCDImager. I then analyzed them with vcddebug. According to it, all three had scan offsets. They all work fine in my player, however, the bbmpeg file is about 6MB larger. I do not know what kind of extra info is in this file.

Hi, Well I tried demux with Tmpegenc and remux with bbmpeg as suggested and it worked great! The disks play on the pc and dvd stand alone player.
One further point of interest, I burned the images with both Nero and CDRWIN with no success but had no problems with fireburner.
Thanks for all the suggestions.
