Hi all
I am trying to burn a .bin file with CDRWin but the program gives me the following error message "NO CDROM recording device was found in the SCSI or IDE bus!". What does this error message tell me ? I have already used my burner with Nero.

Try installing an ASPI layer with ForceASPI: http://www.vcdhelp.com/tools

I'm not sure if you realise it or not but the ForceASPI package is actually in direct violation of the license agreement for the drivers it contains and is therefore considered warez.
A more legal (and more compatible) method is to download the newest ASPI layer from the Adaptec website, this can be found here. Though please note that neither Windows NT or 2000/XP like having multiple ASPI drivers on the one system, you may find Nero becomes rather unstable once you have installed these updated drivers.

For those who don't know, the "official" Adaptec ASPI installer doesn't work for many systems. It is rather less "compatible". As to why this is the case, you should take it up with Adaptec.
ForceASPI is probably closer to "banditware" when it was first released. However, since Adaptec has since actually released it's ASPI drivers as freeware, I take it as okay to use. Since it actually works better than the Adaptec installer, I believe that you should use it preferentially. I consider ForceASPI as simply an alternative method of installing the free Adaptec ASPI drivers.
BTW, Nero uses its OWN ASPI drivers. Installing Adaptec's ASPI drivers does not tend to affect Nero's functionality per se as they are fairly independent of Nero. Some people do have problems when installing both Nero and Easy CD Creator but that goes beyond just ASPI incompatibility.
