mpg captures with ATI AIW 7500

How can I capture directly to mpg with this card. I have looked around and the best i can get is m2p which will not play on any player I have. I then have to re-encode it with TMPGEnc to get it to a real MPG. Any ideas? Any software recommendations?

Either:
1. rename the .mp2 to .mpg
2. Use MMC 7.7: it will capture MPEG2 with the correct .mpg extension
3. Edit your recording preset and change the compression to MPEG1

MMC7.7 stands for MultiMedia Center Ver. 7.7 You don't need to worry about it unless you have an ATI card. It is specially written by ATI for their cards and will not work with other brands.

Go out to ati.com and lookup the drivers for your card.
