VibraVid: My 2023–2025 Journey Building a DRM Downloader

Hi all,

I started building VibraVid in 2023 when I couldn't find a tool that matched my needs for collecting and organizing streaming content from less-supported sources. Over the next two years the project evolved: in 2024 I implemented DASH support with optional CDM integration for research and legitimate playback workflows, and in 2025 I released a GUI to make the same capabilities accessible without the CLI.

What VibraVid does
- Unified downloader for HLS, DASH, ISM and MP4
- Fast, parallel segmented downloads with configurable threads
- Precise stream selection by resolution, codec and language
- FFmpeg-based post-processing: merge, remux, re-encode, subtitle conversion
- Template-driven output paths for consistent library organization
- Hook system for automation (pre/post-run scripts)
- Optional web GUI and Docker deployment

Timeline (quick)
- 2023 — project started to support under-served streaming sources and edge cases
- 2024 — added DASH and optional CDM integration for legitimate research/compatibility
- 2025 — GUI added to broaden accessibility and simplify automated workflows

Hi, it’s a nice, easy-to-use programme. Just one question: I haven’t worked out where to put the CDM (.wvd file). The documentation only explains this for the Linux version, but I’m using the Windows GUI version. I’ve tried putting it in all the folders and even creating a ‘binary’ folder, but it doesn’t recognise the device.wvd file, so when it searches for the vault, it can’t find the decryption key.

Ciao Ghost56, ancora grazie per il programma che hai realizzato... noto nella versione appena aggiornata non e presente il portale di "altadefinizione"???
P.s. Volendo aggiungere uno dei tanti siti di "altadefinizione" o simili, come si fà? ho provato ad aggiungere l'indirizzo nel file config.json e domains.json ma senza risultato.

Dopo 1 minuto che scarichi va a 1MB/s quindi non ha senso aggiungerlo

Ho provato ad aggiungere l'indirizzo nel file config.json e domains.json ma senza risultato.
Potrebbe essere il file in ".cache/services/_site_loader/manifest.json" ? non sò che numeri inserire oltre al link
Utilizzo l'installer1.4.5 in Linux.

Approfitto per dire che il modulo per La7 riesce a scaricare solo la versione 360p e non la 720p che pure è presente...
