N_m3u8DL-RE command line / yt-dlp-Odnoklassniki (ok.ru)

N_m3u8DL-RE is new to me and I was intrigued. I have since been gathering info on it, and I have been learning about how folks here obtain videos.
I have a simple grasp at this time what is going on in the command, and I have been making basic tasks for myself to gain a better understanding.

What I do do not understand at all is how the necessary structure of the above command was obtained. I have been learning about use of dev tool and other tools used in obtaining video material, but my searches for info on obtaining the specific command line structure (along with the necessary elements) needed for ok.ru in relation to N_m3u8DL-RE have been fruitless.

I am an old geezer (my first experience with programming was with FORTRAN and IBM punch cards), and I have piddled around with much in the computing arena since that time, and I like keeping my brain alive. Could somebody please give me a shove in the right direction ?

In my other posting, I noted that I went straight to github for more info on N_m3u8DL-RE. I read the readme, and indeed I saved it and have been working with it as I try to learn. I have also done (and will continue to do) many searches for info on using N_m3u8DL-RE until something "clicks" for me.

I believe what I am now experiencing is similar to me standing in a grocery store aisle, literally in front of the item I seek, and not seeing it right there on the shelf.

I will continue trying to get a better grasp through my thick skull - not the first time I have struggled to get on-track.

Don't be so hard on yourself, people should not be responding to posts like yours with stupid and lazy link dump posts. Nobody comes here asking people to prove they know how to copy and paste and they are the problem.

Anyway I wish I could help I'm at a very basic level with this stuff myself.

N_m3u8DL-RE --help on the command line is 'helpful' - have you looked there first?

There are tools that produce the N _m3u8DL-RE command from a web page extension - so when guys here 'helpfully' post a completed command, they have probably used a tool, and, in all likelihood, don't understand it either. Don't fret - read the stickies.

EDIT The World is now awash with Content Decryption Modules (CDMs) and you will find a free one, unlike in 2022, so jump that section!

Angela - re: --help on the command line. That was the second thing I did after heading to github/N_m3u8DL-RE to get what info I could. For each new program/tool/technique/whatever, I have gotten in the habit of saving any/all help material in text files, saved web pages, and/or screen captures.

re: the "temple of doom" link. In going through postings on this site, I have seen several references to this link. I only avoided because it contained the term "decryption" - I thought it would be over my head, me being a beginner with N_m3u8DL-RE. I will most certainly make use of that link now. Thank You !!!
