  1. Newbie here.

Up until a few weeks ago I was able to digitize my VHS tapes with no problem at all using a GV-USB2 and OBS but suddenly the audio meters are no longer indicating that any audio from a source is present.

I uninstalled drivers, simplified my set up, re-followed the video tutorial I had initially followed to absolutely no avail. Also tried using VirtualDub after lurking here and seeing it recommended but once again, only the video feed appears.

Any advice? Genuinely down to try anything!

For what it's worth, I had purchased a second GV-USB2 to see if that would solve the problem but same issue persists so I dont believe it is a hardware issue.

    Windows 10 Pro
    Version 22H2
    OS Build 19045.6466

Plug your VCR into a TV to make sure audio is coming out of the audio sockets.

    Try AmarecTV; my guide here.

  3. Hey Alwyn,

Can confirm that audio is coming out of the VCR through that socket. I have a S Video splitter out of the VCR going to a TV to monitor the signal - picture and audio work fine.

Will give AmarecTV a shot - appreciate it!

Just tried on my Win10 box, same version as you, sound's coming through OK. I'm on the GV-USB2 1.1.0.93 driver (as shown in Device Manager/1.1.0.93.5 in "Device Settings" in Amarec or VDub).
