When I use AVS2DVD to create a DVD structure using .srt subtitles, the subs aren't listed in the DVDShrink panel.
It doesn't affect playback and if the Re-Author tool is used to cut the video, the subs are still displayed correctly.
As I said, I never noticed before - probably because I never added srt files to AVS2DVD.
Is there a story behind rle that I have just missed?

  4. @sambat, Your image #3 shows DVD Shrink 3.2 .
Maybe the problem is your .vob is 1 minute 17 seconds.

    I'm using installed version 3.2.0.15
I believe this was the last version released.
    My results are like davexnet's.
I have 2 subtitle types for this test:
    1 .srt or subrip
    2 .ass

This is how AVStoDVD displays the video & the subtitles it has:

I could post a MediaInfo image but I do not see a reason to.

Thank you both for your input.
I'm going to ignore the odd results inasmuch as they don't seem to affect either the quality or function of the dvd (or subtitles).
I don't want to get the installed version of the program to chase down the non-problem as I'm adding subtitles to the LOTR Appendices and there are so many episodes that I will be keeping busy.
If indeed it's a duration problem, the other Appendices have varying durations and I will update if I notice a change in behavior.

  6. I did some testing with a 59 second clip.
I added a .srt file to the clip in AVStoDVD.
The short DVD created by AVStoDVD has the subtitles & looks the same as sambat's MediaInfo.
    DVDShrink shows these subtitles.
So duration should not be the problem.

BTW I have no problem with portable programs.
    I use several.
I have installed DVDShrink since back when I was using Windows98SE.
I've never had a problem with it this way.
