I use my MacBook Pro to present and display photos and music for presentations on our home TV (TCL) and (Denon) Reciever.
Here is the set-up...
TCL Monitor (HDMI 1) to Denon Reciever....... Plug in MacBook Pro to Denon Reciever into the GAME (4) HDMI.
Note: I am now running MAC OS 13.7.8 Ventura on my MacBook Pro. I think this is where it is not working correctly with this configuration. Under "Displays in Ventura", the older OS that I was running had an "Air Display" setting that I would choose my TV.....55"TCL TV. Now I only see the Denon Reciever there.... see screen shots.
I will try to send some attachments (below) to visually show what is happening. Note: I have 7 attachments....it looks like your system only accepted 2 of them... I tried again and it said that it uploaded all 7 files.... let me know if you got all 7.
Would appreciate your help!

Looks like that didn't work.
How can I send 5 more attachments to explain my Issue?

You can't add more attachments, even in several posts?
As it is, indeed, it's tricky to figure out what the issue is...
If all else fails and you're in a hurry, use something like this: https://ibb.co/ -
what resolution do you have your macbook pro set at ?? - Using HDMI Input "Game" on Your Denon Receiver
You can connect your MacBook Pro to your Denon receiver using the HDMI Input labeled "Game" (port 4). This works fine for both audio and video output, as long as your MacBook Pro is set to the correct resolution.
For M1/M2/M3/M4 MacBook Pros: Use a USB-C to HDMI adapter (e.g., Anker, Belkin) or a high-speed HDMI cable if your model supports direct HDMI output.
Set the resolution to 1080p or 720p on your Mac if you get a "Mode Not Supported" error. Go to System Settings > Displays > Scaled and select 1920x1080 (1080p) or 1280x720 (720p).
Power on order: Turn on the Denon receiver first, then the MacBook Pro.
Audio output: Ensure audio is routed to the Denon receiver via System Settings > Sound > Output.
HDMI port naming: The "Game" port is just a label—any HDMI input (including CBL/SAT, Media Player, etc.) will work. Choose one that’s not in use.
⚠️ Note: Some Denon receivers may not support the native high resolutions of MacBook Pro Retina displays. If you get no signal, lower the resolution to 1080p or use a premium HDMI 2.1 cable (18Gbps or 48Gbps). -
The only place I even see a video resolution is in About this Mac Info.... 13.3" (2560 X 1600). And the only place in Mac OS Ventura 13.7.8 is in the System Preferences.... Displays. See attached Screen shots below. Below is also a more detailed explination of the issue. Thanks for your reply. Reesche
When we have a group of people over this is a great way to present our photos and play music via iTunes on our MacBook Pro through our home speakers.
1. The MacBook Pro is plugged into our Denon Receiver via an HDMI cable to the "Game" HDMI 4 on the back of the Denon. The TCL 55" TV is plugged into the Denon via... HDMI 1 on the TV and into the TCL Monitor HDMI OUT. (Image 1 above) This set up worked great for years.
2. I control the TV and the Denon Receiver with a Logitech 665 programmable remote. (Images 3, 4, 5 above) Showing the settings in MyHarmony app.
3. MacBook Pro Laptop: I play the iTunes for the music. In the MAC System Preferences: I go to "Sound"... Then select Denon Receiver.... and start iTunes The music is coming through fine via our Home Entertainment Speakers now.
4. (Screen Shot 7) Now, notice the Laptop "Built-In Display".....Then, notice the Denon-AVR this is the route from the Denon (HDMI GAME 4) to the HDMI 1 TCL TV. This is where I went to on the older OS to do this. So it is recognizing the larger home TV but no Video signal is coming through.
So, I am getting Audio Output through my home speakers via iTunes from the Laptop BUT, NO VIEDO signal to the TV. Display settings: It is not recognizing the TCL TV as (55"TCL TV) as before.
MAC OS 13.7.8 Ventura on my MacBook Pro....
My question is: Is there somewhere else in the OS System Preferences that I need to activate, to get a Video signal to the 55"TCL TV.?
I think I have the HDMI cables correct. But I am thinking that the Laptop is not recognizing the TCL TV.
I hope this makes more sense. Let me know what you think !

I guess my question now is..... MacBook Pro Lap Top - Ventura...... Where do I look to change the screen resolution? I would assume System Preferences. I did not see anything like that in the "Display" settings. Screen shot #7 Below
Please advise....

A couple of things to condider...
1. AirPlay Display Setting.....I use to have to activate this before I changed my OS to Ventura.... now I can not find it. I use to have to select TCL 55" TV to see the output from the Lap Top.
2. The HDMI cord I am using says 8K on it.... does this transfer enough information for my MacBook Pro Retina Display to the TCL 55" TV?
New screen shot attached...
