  1. I’m trying to capture PAL VHS using a Hauppauge USB-Live2 (Model 1341) and a Panasonic NV-HS950 VCR, with S-VHS, TBC, separate NR. S-video connection.

I can't get VirtualDub to stick to PAL. I’ve tried VirtualDub 1.9.11 and the VirtualDub2. I go into the Capture Filter to select PAL_B, Apply, OK and the it forces everything back to NTSC. Capture Pin is frozen on NTSC.

Did some testing with AmarecTV, I can set it to PAL, but I have static at the start of the tape and AmarecTV shows/records in black and white. If I stop the tape and play again, the picture is in full color suddenly.

    Help?

    Thanks in advance.

Are you certain it's a PAL tape? Does your Panasonic have a SCART connection?

I think I’ve been using PAL the whole time - the story is in Europe. Yes, it has SCART.

Disintall and reinstall the drivers, specifying PAL at first usage.

It sounds like you may have an NTSC tape there. If you have the original MPEG2 capture software
that came with the stick, you can try capturing as PAL60 and see if you get color.
