Sorry, I posted to the wrong section at first.

This might be a little vague, but hopefully someone can help me. I have been capturing videos and dumping to vcd for a while now, but something I am new to is divx. Someone gave me a bunch of stuff in divx format that I had been looking for, and I want to convert to vcd, but I am having trouble. I am using TMPGenc. I downloaded the new divx codec 5.x, but one of the files will play in windows media player, but not in TMPGenc or anything else for that matter, ie: Premiere, Xing, etc.

Another Problem is that one of the files is 88mb and 23 min., but when it renders, it takes hours and makes a file that is over 600mb and has 30 min. or more of black at the end. Also, the sound doesn't render. This file reads in virtualdub as divx mpeg4 v2 low speed, the other reads as high speed. I have no clue what this means. Anyone have any ideas on these? Also, they are 512 x 388 instead of 352 x 240, does this factor into the problems? Any help would be appreciated.

    Have you tried these steps?
If you get an error message when opening the video or audio like file unsupported
or you get an empty(black) video preview window
or the video look wierd in the video preview window like green or purple or pink
Be sure that you have installed the DivX Codecs (both DivX 3.11, 4 and 5) and also try with the Nimo Codec Pack. If that does not work try to change the codec reader settings in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 1 or 2 and try open the video

I did this and it definitely worked, but the sound is slightly out of sync. What can I do about this, or how can I fix the problem?
