I saw that DAC50 can convert from 576i ( 4:3 ) to 576i ( 16:9 ) ... and I was hoping that on this conversion some sort of line tbc can be involved... ( VHS )
I know that lordsmurf has some experience with datavideo DAC . And maybe he tried this...

Unless your source tape is incorrectly framed, I wouldn't be stretching a 4:3 video to 16:9. It will look very distorted.

DAC in Datavideo-land means Digital to Analog Converter, in the case of the DAC50, it takes a digital SDI signal and converts an analog format like composite or component which is going in the wrong direction for capturing. For captures, you'd want to take something analog and make it digital. There are plenty of devices that do this, but unless they specifically mention that they contain TBCs, they are unlikely to. A widely known example would be the BlackMagic Analog to SDI converter. It'll make analog into digital (opposite of what the DAC50 does) and even embed audio into the SDI stream, but it won't do any time base correction. It'll work if used with a TBC before it in the chain, but it really won't work for magnetic/mechanical media as the signal is too unstable to make a digitally precise signal in realtime unless it is already very stable going into the unit.
