After using DVDBackup the backup disks pause before loading menu, actually they stall as soon as I put them in my stand alone and I have to manually fast forward past the FBI Warnings and then hit menu to get to the menu, if I don't do this it will take a long long time to get to the menu. This has happened on some but not all of my backups.
What is up with that??

I've had problems with DVD backup not decrypting the intros and FBI warnings properly. When my player was playing those parts it would be all scrambled looking. I ended up booting into OS9 and creating a image with DVDExtractor. It worked fine.

That is exactly what is happening to me, but when you extract it in OS9 with DVDExtractor, you don't make an exact copy, so I would lose the menu and all the subtitles, alt audio's and extras.

You do get exact copies. I've been making exact copies (menus, extras, etc). Just launch DVDExtractor (v.9d I think). Choose Save Image from the File menu. This will open up a file dialog box. Double click on your DVD in the file list. Then choose a location on your hard disk to save the image.Originally Posted by earlygrace

So then I just drag the image that DVD extractor makes into toast and burn away, or is there a certain way of burning a DVD image?

DVDExtractor will make a UDF image of the DVD. If the DVD is 4.3Gb or less you can burn it back directly to a DVD-R by selecting the "Disc Image" option in Toast and then selecting the image that DVDExtractor made. If the image is greater than 4.3GB then you are going to have to do the usual stuff to split it across two DVD-Rs. If you have to split it and want to preserve menus, extras, etc then you will need to use a PC app called IFOEdit using Virtual PC. There currently is no Mac equivalent of this app.Originally Posted by earlygrace
