  1. [edit]TL;DR I'm retarded. The font was the problem. I was changing the font in the alternative box, not the default one. I was using some Alte Haas Grotesk font that apparently doesn't support Cyrillic characters.

    I can't, for the life of me, get PotPlayer to show Cyrillic subtitles.
    It shows squares or gibberish when I cycle through the different charsets.
    I tried all the different charsets in the options of Potplayer, I tried changing the encoding in Subtitle Edit, I tried changing my Windows region language, nothing.
    I can get the subtitles to show properly on MPC-HC and VLC, but not on PotPlayer.
